The ecolodge
of Menabe
If you want to discover the Menabe region, the ecolodge remains an essential stopover, rich in activities, in the discovery of terrestrial and maritime flora and fauna through our activities and excursions with our boats, canoes, buggies and quads. In addition, during walks on the sandbanks and through the village, you will be charmed by the inhabitants who are happy to share with you the pride of their traditions, stories and way of life.
The ecolodge is also a starting point in 4x4 by the track to reach Tuléar along one of the largest lagoons of the Indian Ocean. We are at your disposal with local guides and drivers to organize this circuit for you.
We welcome you in a garden shaded by casuarina trees. Our comfortable bungalows are all facing the sea. Meals and the bar are located under a hut. Everything happens with your feet in the sand and in a very good atmosphere. Our team of 13 people is there to ensure your comfort.

Pourquoi un écolodge ?
Our principle is based on the desire to develop a tourist activity that respects the environment, the cultural values of the country, its resources and its biodiversity.
Through our activity, we want to contribute to the creation of jobs and the development of the population of the village. Thus our 13 employees, all from Belo sur Mer, contribute to the life of their family and their village.
Our means: water towers and wells, solar panels, solar oven, lighting of trees and the garden with solar lamps.
Our constraints: The ecolodge as well as the village not being connected to an electrical network and not wishing to use a noisy and polluting generator, the electrical power is therefore limited to the essentials. Nevertheless, you have the possibility of recharging your various electrical devices at the bar and restaurant: computers, tablets, telephones...
Access
By land
From May to November, the ecolodge is accessible by 4x4 from Morondava. The trip takes about 3h30 (100 KM). The rest of the year no land access possible, the track crossing rivers.
By the sea
65KM. Several possibilities: motor boat, motor canoe or sail. The journey takes between 1h40 and 3h00

How did we get to Belo sur mer?
It's a very nice story between Hervé, Director of a real estate agency in Aubagne and me, Carole, Social Worker in a college in Marseille. Our common passions: motorcycling, freedom and escape, travel to discover the most beautiful and unusual places on the planet and their local population.
This is how, twice, we crossed Madagascar on a motorbike, crossing the villages, the multiple landscapes of this country. Through these 2 trips, we discovered the West Coast, its " "vezos (local fishermen), its children with sincere and warm smiles, the stretches of white sand, the sea changing color with the sandstone of the tides and the weather. . It was then obvious that we were going to put our suitcases in this Region and more particularly in Belo.
After some research, a few suitcases packed, a few goodbyes to our families, children and friends, we are settled in the first Air France flight opened in November 2021 in order to discover our new place of life.
